Food Pantry
Stocking your food pantry is an everyday occurrence, however, a little foresight in the types of food you can consume when access to power, water and a heating source are limited, can save your life. Here is a list of suggested foods to have on hand:
• Canned Stews and soups
• Tuna fish, canned beef, Spam and other canned meats
• Canned vegetables, beans and fruits
• Canned milk
• Health foods such as nuts, trail mixes and oatmeal bars
• Dried fruit and canned fruit juice
• Hard candy and chocolate
• Cookies, crackers
• Dry boxed food
• Peanut butter, jelly , salt, sugar and honey
• Whole grain cereals
These foods have a long shelf life. Also, commercially canned food(s) may be eaten out of the can without warming.
