HESSCO Elder Services is reaching out to you to make a difference in someone’s life by becoming a “Meals-on-Wheels” driver within the towns of Canton, Dedham, Foxboro, Medfield, Millis, Norfolk, Norwood, Plainville, Sharon, Walpole, Westwood and Wrentham. The “Meals-on Wheels” program is a volunteer dependent program. Some programs are enhanced by volunteers, but in this case there would be no program without the volunteers. In many cases, the short visit by volunteers is just as important as the meal. They provide not only a social contact but they also provide a daily check on the person. We like to say, “Meals on Wheels” and so much more.
Won’t you help to make sure frail, homebound elders in your community receive a nutritious meal each day? Drivers spend approximately one hour a week from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday, delivering meals and can choose the day of the week that works best for them.
Please consider volunteering for this worthwhile cause. If you are interested, please call 781-784-4944. You CAN make a difference!
